Hiking in Wagrain-Kleinarl

Tappenkarsee – Mountain Lake in Wagrain-Kleinarl

Tappenkarsee is one of the largest mountain lakes in the Eastern Alps. It is 48 metres deep and covers an area of 23.8 hectares. For the brave, the lake, with a water temperature of around 15°C, is also perfect for a refreshing swim. The hike starts at the end of the Kleinarl valley (Schwabalm) and takes around 2 hours, with approximately 600 metres of elevation gain.

Shuttleberg Family Run – Summer Edition

The family-friendly circular hiking trail, starting at the Champion Shuttle mountain station, is also suitable for pushchairs. The 2.5 km trail takes you through alpine meadows with 12 fun slides along the way. For the slides, we recommend using a “Rutschturbo” (slide mat), which is available at the ticket offices. From there, the trail continues through the forest and back to the Champion Shuttle mountain station. The low-rope and climbing areas turn the forest walk into an adventure for both children and adults. This makes the 100 metres of elevation gain a fun and playful experience.
